Blakeney's exposed North Norfolk coastline takes a relentless toll on chimneys — we rebuild them properly, using materials that stand up to salt air and sea winds.
Blakeney is full of flint-and-brick cottages, many of them period properties that have been converted or extended over the decades. The chimneys on these homes are often original Victorian or Edwardian stacks, and years of coastal weather — driving rain, frost cycles and salt-laden winds off the estuary — leave mortar crumbling and brickwork spalling well ahead of schedule.
We carry out full chimney rebuilds from the flashing line upward, repointing or replacing individual courses where needed and finishing with an appropriate lime or hydraulic mortar suited to older flint-built properties. Every rebuilt stack we complete in Blakeney is capped and flashed correctly before we leave the scaffold.
